Hola, Hive!!!
He vuelto... sano y lleno de ilusiones.
No te detienes.
Muchas.

Hello, Hive!!!
I'm back... healthy and full of illusions. It has rained a lot since my last post. It has rained so much that even a storm has passed. They say that after a storm things go back to where they belong. Or they change to a better place. The truth is that we are not the same. As you can imagine, quite a few stories, anecdotes, tales and gossip have occurred in these almost three months of absence. I will tell them little by little, like a relative who has gone on a long trip and comes back full of stories in his suitcases.
I will start with the most recent: My mother's visit to the city. When my mother comes to town, everything moves at the speed of light. I, who am already an expert on her few visits, tell everyone: "Tomorrow my mom is coming, I'm going to be out of the coverage area. The pretext of this visit is to get to know the new space I inhabit. And when I say get to know, I mean really get to know. Like a tornado through the house, she passes her hand through all my carelessness. The first day is always the stormiest.
With the same agility with which he fixes a rice cooker, he invents a trick to improve the reception of the TV antenna: "You can't miss Con Filo", he tells me.... Then he picks up a hammer and fixes the legs of a sofa, puts a cupboard on the wall, scrubs all the pots and pans with "alámbrico" while he mutters to me: this, to make it good, you have to do it with ashes. He has a master's degree in electrical work, carpentry and plumbing. And a doctorate in predictions: "That vase over there is going to fall and crack in two? That Buddha is too heavy for that little table, it's going to fall and it's very beautiful, old man...".
And I, who already know where she comes for each of her visits, go quietly to the kitchen and make lunches and meals because she always tells me: "I didn't come to work, I came to have fun with you". The new neighbors are getting to know her. The house is, then, an orchestra of hammers and pot lids ringing through the building. A country musicality that has filtered into the city.
During the afternoons I go running on the track. A stretch of about four kilometers each way. To tell you the truth, it took me a long time to establish this fitness ritual, but once I proposed it, I got the hang of it. It is a space-time to meditate and to train my body. To that I added a careful diet that I will talk about in future posts.
Everything was going well... Until I found a certain surprise from my mother: You eat the track for almost an hour. You walk, you jog, you control your breathing, you sweat in spurts. You don't stop. At home there was coffee, cigarettes and the comfortable armchair of the sedentary... You walk, you jog, you control your breathing. And then, in the middle of the street, even with your headphones and sneakers, you feel so fit, so narcissistic in your metamorphosis that you are even capable of pouring an unbearable green tea down your throat.
And then you believe that everything is possible. That those short-term resolutions are not so unattainable. You get home looking forward to tomorrow's routine. And there, without expecting it, is misfortune on the table. Six plates of rice pudding fresh out of the pan, with its cinnamon aroma, contaminating the building... There's the Shakespearean doubt: "To eat or not to eat." My mother doesn't believe in fitness. My mother doesn't believe in anything. I'll read to you a little at a time. Let me know in the comments how your lives are going. Looking forward to being back. Looking forward to being back.
