Wraithvine was down for the count, again! The latest tests to try to find a way to immunize hir, as it were, against the effects of that blasted bell, and the shockingly powerful abilities of Amatu, were proving problematic. The young destined, for his part, was deeply apologetic as Wraithvine awakened again in the bedrolls, head throbbing, and being gently offered a restorative drink as they were trying to find a way to turn that dangerous weapon toward enemies, without harming beloved friends.

Vee's lips left hir forehead, and Wraithvine came into consciousness whilst cradled in Pondermoore's arms like a baby. Hir first words were, "Adequate warning, Amatu..."
Rawr, paw over his magical eye, chided, "Yelling dance card doesn't do much if nobody else knows what it means."
"I thought we all agreed on this," said Amatu, one hand still on the pouch where his bell was safe. "It was last night, after we went to slee-- Oh."
"Prophetic dream?" guessed Vee. "You need to tell us about this stuff."
The destined hero hid himself inside his angelic wings. "...i thought i had," he squeaked.
Wraithvine held on to Pondermoore as ze returned to hir feet. "We still have to warn every mage and undead in an enormous radius about that thing. Otherwise, you're going to attract some vengeful souls."
"Yesss..." hissed one of the nearby shadows as it grew form. "About that."
Wraithvine groaned, rolled hir eyes and deadpanned, "Hello Malforence. We meet again moo-haha..."
"Ssso thisss is the foretold one... The child of heaven and hell," the shadow became increasingly humanoid, but never quite humanoid enough. Malforence seemed to not know how many joints any given limb should have. Or, for that matter, fingers. "It'sss ssso nice to meet my doom at lassst."
"Uhm," said Amatu. "I don't intend to doom anybody..."
"It'sss the way of heroesss," Malforence slithered back to Wraithvine, who had already cast a protection spell over the entire party. "Isn't it? My curssse?" A lingering caress over Wraithvine's cheek, and the shadow was gone.
"What?" said Vee.
Wraithvine had a pained sneer on hir face. "We used to date. Back when they were a much nicer creature."
