I am doing the Lemonade Diet. I did this last January for 17 days, as sited in previous post 1, and I got rid of coffee, sugar, meat, eggs... it was great!! I kept it going for 3 months, but I am in a relationship with a meat-eater so eventually I went back to everything.
3 nights ago I had severe acid reflux (which is what I had back in the 90s that led me down the path of alternative medicine to begin with).
One adjustment is that I am replacing lemons with limes because organic lemons are up to $4 a lb. due to the California fires. Yesterday I thought I would double the limes because you can only get 2 tablespoons limejuice per 4 with lemons. I realized, however, that limejuice is much more potent than lemon and at the end of the day, I had heartburn from the limes, so I am just doing 4 limes a day - that's 2 limes per quart of water, with 8 tablespoons of maple syrup and 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper.
Also, I drank a quart of warm water with 2 tsp of himalayan salt - which gets the poop to move fast - gotta be ready for that - it takes me about an hour and then it all comes rushing out... yuck. I take Magnesium Citrate at night, to get it ready...
I am drinking 1 cup of black tea because yesterday I was so tired I could hardly stay awake. So maybe I will beat my caffeine addiction 100% this time - not sure. It's pretty tough to live in the city without caffeine. But I could also just decide to do this cleanse every 6 months - and that might slowly bring me into balance.
I am trying not to have any particular goals with this cleanse. I will see what happens.
