Gorgeous day, lovely sky. They were to attend another wake. "We'll have to walk," their companion said, so they left their car by the roadside.

What she didn't expect was that they would go down a steep hill. Her slip-on loafers weren't exactly fit for such a trail. But what to do? She wouldn't wish to go barefoot, no?

So off they went, trekking down. It wasn't the trickiest trail she had been to, but certainly an interesting one. Every curve seems to be hiding a surprise.

But they made it to the bereaved family's lil paradise. The estate was nestled amongst tall trees. Her shyness stopped her from taking photos.

Anyway, after spending a little over 3 hours at the wake, it was time to head back up, but she had to capture some pictures first.

Towering lolly fruit trees over their heads, blue sky and white clouds way up.

And look, some pigs enjoying their afternoon under the cool shade, ccompletely unaware they would be the next on the butcher's table. Per local tradition, guests would have to be fed.

Okay, it was time to climb up. At least the path is paved. Thankfully, it didn't rain the previous night or it would be muddy.

Clusters of tiny white fungi growing on the face of some wood caught her eye. Click. Click!

Her companions were no longer in sight. So she walked faster. She wouldn't wish to be left behind! But the paper plate artfully tucked in the trunk of one of the small trees screamed for a bit of attention, so she took a snapshot.

The landscape across that mountainside was equally attractive. However, she couldn't stick around to enjoy more of it.

She doubled her pace, because her companions won't be waiting forever. Alas, after some ten minutes, they reached their ride. The LilGuy was patiently waiting for her in the back seat.

It wasn't easy leaving him alone, but he's learning, and trusting he'd never be abandoned.
