"Morning, Ling, did you sleep well? You should not do anything today; take a good rest," the husband's instant message in the morning. He took another trip to the capital yesterday afternoon for a delivery. I smiled. At past 8 am, I was still under the sheets, yawning. It was one of those times when I totally gave in to my body even when my mind (and stomach) were telling me to get up and start the day.
"Yes. I'm not in the mood to do anything today. Even the laundry will have to wait, haha!" I replied to his message. The truth is, I initially planned to drive to my sister's, and we could go to our grandpa's wake, but spending the day lazily was more tempting, lol!
It's a holiday after all, and Friday at that, so why not?馃榿
My little boy seems to be feeling the same. While we were both awake around 6 am, we didn't want to move. Normally, he would stretch his legs, then come to my face and kiss me, but this morning, he just lay quietly on top of my legs.
Anyway, we eventually left the bed for breakfast. We can't skip a meal just because we wanted a slower day. Food is life, eh! And funnily enough, I took care of the laundry afterward. Just one load anyway (the husband's soiled and wet clothes he brought home the other night). I didn't touch those in the hamper.
It was an intentional rest day; hence, I chose to do less. I did watch some AI-generated shows, took naps in between, played and snuggled with the little guy, and of course, made food too!
Yeah, after the week-long busyness, Friday allowed me time, or rather, I permitted myself to be lazy, recharge, and be free.
