A breezy Tuesday morning in DD. The cool season is finally upon us, which means jackets and bonnets out (for me, that is, since I easily shiver in the cold). Good times, still!
Anyway, we will be driving out of town soon, but first, let me share three nice tunes that I enjoyed recently.
Recognized as the pioneer of the "Pinoy Trap" genre, Skusta Clee released a new single this year, featuring his former Ex-Battalion member, Flow G.
A Pinoy Hip-Hop that blends smooth contemporary R&B elements. The song is quite groovy and a bit nostalgic, enhanced by a steady, rhythmic trap drum pattern that invites head-nodding or foot-tapping (which I did, joyfully)😁
The next is one (accidentally* discovered yesterday. It appeared on my YT feed, and curiosity got me to click play. The contemporary country blending pop elements feels fresh to the ears.
I haven't encountered Morgan before, and I learned from a quick search that he was a contestant on The Voice in 2014. Accordingly, he has broken nearly every streaming record in the Country music genre since he released his first album in 2018, with his songs topping charts for weeks.
This song is Wallen's first-ever official duet with a female artist. It is commercially successful, debuting at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.. I like that the artists' voices harmonized with each other, not one overpowering the other. Both delivered their verses true to their own signature genres.
And the third tune for the day:
Aha! A poignant, indie-rock ballad with the artist's soaring vocals (clean, bright, and pure tenor voice), plus the expressive, looping piano melodies. It gives that intimate, nostalgic, and vulnerable feeling.
And with that, let me end this participation in Ablaze's TTT initiative. Here's to a groovy Tuesday!
