Hard to believe another Tuesday has arrived already. Where did the week go? I've been busy around here catching up with some work projects and enjoying the weather. It's great this time of year in southern California, not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect! Except for the next two days as the are predicting rain yet again. More storms pushing in off the ocean, but it sure beats snow!
As the header reveals, time for another Three Tune Tuesday. There was a time I tried to generate a new header every week, but AI can be so unpredictable and give you garbage so often these days. So I've kind of stuck with one of my favorites I managed to generate some time back. It may not be as fun and exciting as a daily shiny and new one, but maybe I can wade back into that quagmire again. We'll see next week...
I know I have been sharing the Hard Rock Hotel Silver Strike tokens from Las Vegas, but this week found something interesting made in platinum. Take a look at this little coin I found for sale:
From APMEX.com
Talk about a tiny coin from Liberia! Only 0.5 grams of pure platinum, and face value of $20. Of course they sell for $129.99 a piece on APMEX! They only made 999 of these, I find it kind of fascinating. But not enough to purchase one... However, since it was about rock n' roll, it fits perfect with my Three Tune Tuesday!
I know I have been doing a decade theme by the decades as of late, but today I just was running low on steam. So today, I'm choosing three random songs I've heard recently that I've always enjoyed. In today's case, they were some I hadn't heard in some time. I hope you enjoy the randomness!
Danzig
This New Jersey band formed in Lodi in 1987, and by 1988 had already scored their first huge hit, "Mother". From there the original lineup produced four albums up to 1994, before everyone but the front man Glenn Danzig parted ways. The band has remained active throughout the years and still perform today, but they were never quite the same without their original members... Here's "Mother":
Beastie Boys
This legendary band formed in 1981 in New York City, they were a hardcore punk band at the inception. They soon realized the market was much bigger in rap rock and hip-hop, and that's where they found their success. In 1986 they released Licensed to Ill and very quickly became superstars. This song comes off of that same album and is called "No Sleep till Brooklyn":
Siouxsie and the Banshees
This band formed in London, England in 1976. By 1980 they were a popular band in the UK and and Europe, but didn't break into the markets in the US until 1988 with their album Peepshow. That's when I first remember being introduced to their music with the song "Kiss Them for Me". Sadly, they only really lasted until 1996 before parting ways, although they had several lineup changes along the way. I've always loved their cover of the Iggy Pop song "The Passenger" released in 1987, so here it is:
That will wrap up another Three Tune Tuesday, I do hope you enjoyed the randomness of the theme. Since there was no theme... But all songs that I enjoyed back in the 1980's! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you for all of your support. It's greatly appreciated. Have a great day everyone!
