“Plains watch the mountains and mountains watch the plains. Through looks, everything touches everything, even though they have many kilometers or even light years between them!”
Magandang buhay everyone! How's your holidays going on so far? I hope you're having a blast with your loved ones.
I was on the phone with my one of my friends yesterday evening where she was telling me that she and her youngest daughter are left alone in their house because her hubby is on duty (a police officer) and their other kids went with their granny to the lowlands. They didn't go with them because they had some commitments in their church.
For as long as I can remember, it has been a practice for most people from here to go down during the holidays not just for the beach but because they want to leave the freezing cold even for a while. That is one of the reasons why most bought properties down there so they can have somewhere to vacation to and not needing to rent places during the coldest season.
Some relatives and friends especially those with illnesses (rheumatism, arthritis, diabetes) made their permanent residences down in the lowlands and just visit their homes up here once in a while.
Anyway, these photos were taken while we were on the road a few days back. The second to the fifth slide, we pulled over for a little while to photograph and enjoy them. The others were snapped while the car is running so some might be blurry and perhaps not the best.
Plains, rice fields and pastures are uncommon scene up here in our place. There isn't any of them actually so seeing them is very refreshing especially when they are lush green. I honestly could not explain but I often (always) gasp by the mere sight of them 'coz most of them are so immense and boundless that I could not see the end of them. Well, I have a fascination for both plains and mountains anyway.
That brought me to wonder if the people living down there would feel the same way when they come up here. Will they be mesmerized by the heights and elevated slopes here too? Perhaps they would, well... I believe some of them at least.
We noticed on our trip that whilst a few of the fields are green, most are still yet to be ready for planting. We are guessing the farmers will probably let these few months pass before they get working and maybe in the second quarter of next year, most fields would be lush green with their vegetation. And that calls for another trip? We'll see...
