Hola, fellow Hivers!
It's the second day of the year and it's been a great one for me although the New Year celebration hangover is still in my veins and my body indicating I needed more sleep. Thankfully, I was able to take a short power nap during the day.
The weekend-engagement topics always amaze me and the set of options this week is incredibly challenging, thanks to our community founder @galenkp who never fails to bring us interesting and thought-provoking topics to nibble upon each weekend.
I spent some hours deciding which one amongst the 6 I should write about today, although it could have been easier to toss a coin as our very own founder suggested, lol!
And so the winner is..... (drum roll please? lol!)
✨Option four
Choose a hive user you have engaged with and enjoyed over the year and tell me about them and why you have connected and engaged with them over the year - Showcase them or just show some gratitude.
I have engaged with several Hivers in my short journey in 2021 and all have been really amazing. But there is one who has touched my heart in more ways than one even prior to coming here in the Hive blockchain and that is my dear Venezuelan friend @coquicoin, who writes really well and amazingly, sharing her personal experiences and her travels too.
Have you ever had an experience meeting someone and you just felt good the very first time?
That happened to me when I first encountered my dear Cocola (her Spanish nickname) in another blogging platform more than half a year ago. Reading her posts and comments made me feel connected with her and I can't seem to explain why. It is not just because I can relate to some of her thoughts, but there is more.
One of the things she said that stuck with me was a comment she left in one of my posts where she said labeling others even in a good way is not really good because it stops us from getting to know more about them. This wisdom will definitely stay with me for the rest of my life and help keep me from judging others too soon.
When she learned that I was starting my Hive journey, she didn’t hesitate to extend her helping hands and offered some valuable tips and recommendations by sending them to my Telegram despite her busy schedule. And I am extremely grateful for my start became a lot easier because of her help. She was one of my very first supporters here too.
“There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met.”
– Jim Henson
When I lost my mother-in-law last month, I got teary-eyed when I received her personal message through TG telling me that I was in her thoughts and prayers and wished me strength at my difficult times. Part of her message that made me feel loved even more was this:
“I just want to tell you that from the distance, I’m with you.”
I became quite emotional when I read her amazing words and the farm boy was deeply touched as well. It feels like receiving a giant warm hug and the feeling is beyond words - it is just indescribable!
She is an incredibly beautiful soul who made me feel I found a sister from another mother, somewhere many miles away, at a different time zone, she lives in Caracas, and I am here in the mountains. I feel genuinely happy with her wins and I believe she feels the same way when I do.
Although we didn’t really talk or agree upon this, we unknowingly became each other’s keeper and cheerer, not only here, but in other platforms too.
For these and many other qualities she possesses and all the things she does not only toward me but to others too, I am profoundly grateful and proud that once in this lifetime, I have met an amazing being who fondly calls me “amiga” or “sis” and whom I call the same way too without any ounce of inhibitions.

Gracias, sis Eliana, I thank the Heavens for having met you and bringing me a new world with you in it. I love you unconditionally and wish we could be sisters for life :)
Thank you for your time and this is my participation in the weekend's engagement challenge. If you are reading this and have not participated yet, I invite you to join too. Do check it HERE for the simple rules and mechanics.
