Our Yongi had fun in the yard yesterday afternoon. It got warmer, so I decided to start clearing the intruders (weeds/grass) in our little garden. He was watching from the door at first, then I let him out (feeling guilty for not giving him enough time outdoors).馃槉
Oh boy, he was so pleased!
I left him be and went on with my task, finding brown fungi at the base of one of the plants.
After a while, I turned around and found him sniffing the grass, then he hopped into the plant bed.
The little cutie is no longer camera shy. Or maybe he was just in the mood to be photographed馃槄
"Can you spot something on my mouth face?" he seems to be saying in this shot. At least he didn't bury his face in the dirt.
He stayed close, and didn't attempt to leave the yard. He could have easily ran to the street like he often did in DD when I let him play outside.
I put my phone away, as there were still plenty of weeds to clear. When I looked around to check on him again, he was near the edge of the yard, near the citrus tree, munching on something, so I moved closer. It turned out he was eating some grass!
Thought of stopping him, but I remembered he hadn't pooped since morning. According to my previous readings, it is normal for our four-legged babies (dogs) to munch on grass. It is their instinctual response to intentionally add a quick boost of roughage (fiber) to their digestive tract.
Smart boy, eh!馃榿
"Of course, Mom!" he heard my thoughts (maybe). He was grinning widely, obviously delighted.
Guess he was satisfied; he curled up on the concrete ground. Perhaps he instinctively knew (too) that his bath was coming, and he took the chance to rest while I finished off weeding.
Friday turned out to be a fulfilling day for me, and a fun one for my little guy.
Dad? He closed his lil shop and enjoyed a long afternoon nap. I'm really glad he learned to pause and give his mind and body time to rest.
