All ye plantain lovers fall in right here because this post is dedicated to us!!!!!!!! We canât let rice fellas win, Yâall!!!
While growing up, tea and bread was my favorite food for years and most people wondered if it could pass as a complete meal but I wasnât fazed as I drank my tea and ate my bread with pride and dignity, I could almost finish a full loaf of bread that is without any bread spread and if you add any bread spread to the mix thatâs the end!! I always had this my favorite âmealâ passionately until my siblings started complaining, Lol they felt cheated as I ate the larger part of the loaf of bread every single time but then again I couldnât help it.
Over time I shifted, tea and bread wasnât my favorite food anymore, it was replaced by the almighty PLANTAIN, freaking PLANTAIN!! Like whatâs not to love about plantain?? It goes alongside so many side dishes. Nothing can go wrong with plantain, I tell you.
My love for plantain has grown to a point where I wouldnât mind eating it forever if I had to and I wouldnât get tired.
While growing up I had always said that I was gonna plant a plantain tree in my garden when I get married as the price of plantain keeps increasing every freaking day and itâs annoying. The price increases while the size decreases! Talk about wickedness, when a friend of mine heard this so-called âplantain goalâ of mine he said, âInstead of planting one or two plantain trees in your garden you can just own a plantain plantation and get as many plantains as you wantâ and that advice had a nice ring to it and it stuck in my heart, even though I donât know how to go about it or how itâs going to materialize, I just know for a fact that I would love to own a plantain plantation.
Imagine me having a plantain plantation then having to eat plantain forever is not gonna be a problem as I would never run out of plantainđ I just snap my finger boom! Thereâs plantain right in front of međ I snap it again the next week boom! I have enoughđ (pardon my dramatic antics pleaseđ).
Plantain is the only food I can try to eat when I am sick, you know that moment when you are terribly sick and everything feels sour in your mouth? Or the sight of the food demotivates you to take in? At that moment plantain is the only food I can have a taste of, if in my sick state I can acknowledge this, then eating it forever wouldnât be such a bad idea even though I know for a fact that it would not be easy.
The good thing about plantain is that it can be eaten with different things and it can take different shapes and forms yet it still looks and tastes delicious, you can call it the power of plantain if you wantđ
Plantain can be fried, boiled, roasted and turned into plantain chips as a snack, and with every one of them, it still retains its glorious taste.
Coming up with this post made me realize how fortunate I am that I can eat any and everything without side effects and I am not restricted to eating just one meal, yeah the little things we take for granted.
