Was my response to one to my friends during his visit to our place one fine day somewhere Christmas last year. He could not believe my son was 5 years old. He thought he was a super genius 2.5 years old or 3 years old boy who could talk so fluently and with a good command of language.
I did not want to say it but in the end I told him my son was diagnosed failure to thrive due to his congenital issue since born. His lung was not complete size so his entire system worked double, using up alot of calories which my son could not successfully eat enough for that amount of calorie.
He asked me whether was I worry about his future?
That question, my friend, was THE question I tried to avoid. Trust me, my friend. I worried. I cried. I read up the hows and the do's and don'ts. I was stressed before. I tried my best. But it didn't change his height and weight to abit except I was inviting alot of stress into my life. SO I LET GO! I leave it to the nature to take its course. I see him enjoy his daily life. I am happy. And I am learning to enjoy my life together on daily basis.
Now that he is 6 years old, still small in size, like 4 years old. Do I still have silent worry? Trust me, my friend. I have my slots of worry thoughts every single day, but I have learned to quickly brush it off and to enjoy the moment. Moments which last forever. Worry won't do a thing. So I enjoy every moment with my son.
