Mari tapped into overwhelming power to dissolve the demon ritual before collapsing into Akito's arms. After forgiving Akito and handing him their parents rings, Mari tragically passed away. The Hannya suddenly resurfaced, joining his spirit family to merge the realms, prompting Akito and K.K. to make their final stand.
Expecting a sudden catastrophe, I watched in confusion as the tide turned. The dark fog dissipated, the sky regained its natural light, and the surrounding demons began vanishing into thin air.
Floating high above the shrine was Mari, radiating an extraordinary power that halted the entire ceremony. The Hannya shouted in disbelief, asking if Mari was responsible and insisting that the ritual could not be stopped.
Mari's power was so immense that Hannya couldn't even launch an attack against her. He fell in the pit instead that got open from his own ritual. It looked like he just fell into hell.
With Hannya forced back, the energy faded, and Mari fell toward the earth. Sprinting forward, Akito caught his sister in his arms right before she hit the dirt.
Gaining consciousness, Mari recognized Akito immediately and thanked him for coming to save her. Overcome with remorse, Akito tried to apologize for the tragic fire that started this entire nightmare, but Mari gently cut him off.
She assured him that she knew he was sorry, revealing that his love was the only tether keeping her spirit attached to the mortal world. Mari explained that the accident wasn't his fault at all.
She willingly rushed back into their burning home to retrieve two rings hanging on a necklace, the only remaining mementos of their deceased mother and father.
Unable to leave the family heirlooms behind, she was trapped when the structure collapsed. Slipping the ring necklace into Akito's hand, she gave him her final blessing.
As the spectral flowers around the altar began fading away, Mari urged Akito to leave, expressing her deep gratitude that she could finally tell him the truth before her time ran out. She took her final breath and passed away right in Akito's arms, leaving him to cry out in anguish over her body.
Suddenly, Hannya materialized once more before a burning portal to the afterlife, flanked by the spirits of his own wife and daughter. Laughing hysterically, Hannya declared his ultimate victory, proclaiming that the two realms were finally merged.
He boasted that the liberated souls of Tokyo would now be made pure, existing in eternal unity alongside his family.
Akito gently laid Mari on the ground, wrapping the chain of his parents rings tightly around his fist. K.K. spoke up inside his mind, declaring that it was time to end this once and for all as Hannya began transforming into his final form.
