It has been almost 8 months since I saw my mother in person. If I saw her from the phone in several chats via one of the several applications that today allow us to talk with others and see them from the phone screen.
Finally, yesterday I decided and went to visit her, a little because of the relaxation of the confinement measures that have been announced by the government, another little because the number of cases here in the Federal Capital has drastically decreased, however, my main decision came from the conviction that she needed to see me and I needed her too.
She is old, it shows but within all her 86 years she takes them very well, I hope I can enjoy her for many more years.
I brought him some cornstarch alfajores that I made a while before, filled with dulce de leche and with striped coconut as decoration on the edges. It was just an excuse to hang out with her.
I left her happy and promised to return soon. When I got home I was talking to my wife on the phone, they told a lot of things and surely they talked about me, although none of them told me anything.
It was something very strong and I hope that next time it will not be so far back in time, thank God and the Chinese virus.
Pasaron casi 8 meses desde que vi a mi madre en persona. Si la vi desde el teléfono en varias charlas vía alguna de las varias aplicaciones que hoy permiten conversar con otros y verlos desde la pantalla del teléfono.
Finalmente ayer me decidí y fui a visitarla, un poco por el relajamiento de las medidas de confinamiento que han anunciado desde el gobierno, otro poco porque la cantidad de casos aquí en la Capital Federal han disminuido drásticamente, sin embargo mi decisión principal vino del convencimiento que ella necesitaba verme y yo a ella también.
Está viejita, se nota pero dentro de todo sus 86 años los lleva muy bien, espero poder disfrutarla por muchos años más.
Le llevé unos alfajores de maizena que hice un rato antes, rellenos de dulce de leche y con coco rayado como decoración en los bordes. Era solo una excusa para comparti un rato con ella.
La dejé contenta y le prometí volver pronto. Cuando llegué a casa estaba hablando con mi esposa por teléfono, se contaron muchas cosas y seguramente hablaron de mi aunque ninguna me contó nada.
Fue algo muy fuerte y espero que la próxima vez no sea tan lejos en el tiempo, gracias a Dios y al virus chino.
