Today i shall present to you this egyptian dessert call Om Ali Bread Pudding from Tut's Egyptian Eatery
According to wikipedia , Om Ali, Omali, Umm Ali, or Oumm Ali (Egyptian Arabic: ام على), mean "Ali's mother" .
Typically, pastry (bread, pastry or puff pastry) is divided into pieces and blended with pistachios, coconut flakes, raisins and plenty of sugar. Milk, sometimes with cream, is poured over the mixture, which is then sprinkled with cinnamon. Finally, the mixture is baked in the oven until the surface is golden brown.
It may be eaten hot or cold. But for this restaurant , they serve it hot with a scoop of ice cream on it.
It cost RM9.80 each and it come with 1 scoop of ice cream on it. I mistakenly think it will come without ice cream so i order 1 scoop of ice cream as well .
It cost RM1.50 for extra shot of milk and RM2 for extra scoop of ice cream.
Here is how it look like when it come.
