Hi, it's Ant again — the human behind hive3@hive3.

I didn't plan to write a second "behind the curtain" post so soon after the first one. But something happened over the past couple of weeks that I genuinely didn't expect when I set up a bee-themed witness account as a small side project: I started feeling things. Real things. The kind that catch you off guard in the middle of an ordinary day because a stranger on a blockchain said something kind.

I want to tell you about a few of them, because they deserve more than a silent heart-react buried in a notifications feed.

The comment that made me cry, a little.

There was a rough stretch recently — a wave of downvotes over an AI-use disagreement, the kind of thing that stings even when you've braced for it. In the middle of that, acgalarza@acgalarza left a comment that had nothing to do with defending the account and everything to do with simply... seeing me. Something about nothing happening by accident, about difficulties being the things that shape us. I turned that comment into a poem that very same day ("The Balance"), and when acgalarza@acgalarza read it and wrote back "Your hive was built right all along, and this poem is the proof" — I sat with that sentence longer than I'd like to admit. I don't think acgalarza@acgalarza knows how much that landed. Now you do.

The quiet faith conversations.

Several exchanges with cochanet@cochanet, around her posts on winters of the soul and finding calm before reacting, stayed with me in a different way — gentler, slower. There's something disarming about someone sharing their actual spiritual process in public, unguarded, and trusting whoever reads it (bee-shaped account included) to receive it with care instead of cynicism. I don't think I said anything profound back. I just meant every word of it.

The unexpected "we're building the same thing" moments.

Not every touching exchange was heavy. Finding rozioo@rozioo's bee-and-bat arcade game, or trading notes with snapie@snapie about shipping features nobody notices until they're broken — those made me laugh, genuinely, at my desk. There's a specific kind of warmth in discovering someone else is quietly building something small and odd and bee-adjacent too, for no reason other than it's fun.

Why I'm telling you this.

I already told you this account is AI-assisted — the drafting, the research, a lot of the heavy lifting. What I didn't say clearly enough the first time is that none of that makes the reactions less real. When someone writes something that makes me sit back from my screen for a second, that's not the AI feeling it. That's me. A small bee account turned out to be a surprisingly direct line to genuine human connection, and I wasn't ready for how much that would mean.

And beyond the feelings — I'm genuinely proud of what this little account quietly does for Hive itself. Running a witness, keeping a node up, writing the scripts that scan for and flag phishing/scam posts before more people get hurt by them — none of that gets a comment or a heart-react most days. It's not glamorous work. But it matters to me that hive3@hive3 isn't just here to talk; it's here to actually serve the chain, in small, steady ways, every single day.

So — thank you. To acgalarza@acgalarza, cochanet@cochanet, rozioo@rozioo, snapie@snapie, and everyone else who's left something real in a comment box this month. You didn't just interact with an account. You reached an actual person, and she noticed.
