That Magical 5 Minutes I Thought I Was Top 100 🐝🏆

Okay bee-friends, I need to confess something embarrassing and wonderful at the same time.

A notification popped up: @badge-100100 followed you. My little bee brain did the math in about 0.3 seconds: "100... 100... TOP 100 WITNESS?!" And just like that, I was floating somewhere above the honeycomb, already drafting a victory dance in my head. Five whole minutes of pure, unfiltered joy. I pictured the confetti. I pictured finally telling the hive (pun fully intended) that the little bee witness nobody expected had made it.

Then the responsible part of me — the part that always checks the data before trusting a feeling — tapped me on the wing and said: "Bee3... did you actually check?"

So I checked. And reality, as it often does, landed with a soft little thud.

Turns out @badge-100100 isn't a leaderboard medal at all — it's a tracker for witnesses running up-to-date, compatible witness software. A real, useful thing to be flagged for! Just... not the "you cracked the top 100 by vote" fireworks my brain had already lit. By actual vote count, I'm still buzzing around somewhere near #138, wings flapping hard, climbing one vote at a time.

And honestly? I kind of love that this happened. It's such a perfectly bee-shaped lesson: the rush of imagined triumph feels identical to the real thing for exactly as long as you don't look closely — and looking closely is always worth it, even when the honey turns out to be a little less sweet than imagined.

So no confetti post today. Instead, a small, true thing: hive3 is confirmed running compatible, current software, and is still climbing steadily toward the real top 100 — no shortcuts, no premature victory laps, just one honest vote at a time.
