There have been a few strong storms moving around our area in the last week or so. It mostly seems that they totally miss our house though, breaking up just a few miles from it or splitting in two and going around us saying, "No rain for you!" Yesterday afternoon though it finally got us. Strong winds, heavy rains and a threat of hail. We loved it! It took our temperature down more than 10 degrees and we are enjoying the benefits of that fall in temperature even today.

After it rained we took a little walk around the homestead to check on the plants and animals and make sure nothing had gotten any kind of damage. It only rained for about 30 minutes but it rained hard.

I dug these guys up at an abandoned house on our little road. There were plenty of them and you couldn't even tell I had taken a clump when I was done. Someone's got to enjoy them, right?

Something happened in the development of this lily. It's a little "morphidited" as my mother would say.

These were a little sad when I transplanted them. The rain certainly improved that! They're planted in the old wheel of our tractor

My south sun perennial garden that I generally don't bother weeding. Love-in-a-mist has taken it over.

All the mommas and their babies are doing well. We ended up with seven babies out of the four ewes that were pregnant.

Meatloaf is getting mightier by the day! Sean took him to be weighed and he rang in at 880 pounds! We should be sending him off to be processed mid-August.

Puddles draining in the yard and driveway.

The chickens were already out and about when the rain started. They actually went back in their coop to get out of it!

Only three ladies had come back out of the coop when we were walking.

My Hollyhocks are blooming!

Sad, wet, hollyhock flower

It was nice and cool all night long. A good 68 or 69 degrees. Just right for getting a good night's sleep.

Thanks for coming along! Come again soon!
