It is a normal thing these days to find young people doing what the young of this generation do like hanging out with peers, partying here and there, drinking, giggling with friends and peers etc. The young these days find it boring to hang out with their parents because they feel it will not be any fun. I used to think so at some point in my life and could hardly believe the fact that some people will even be close to people much older than them so much that they become friends.
I could not just really understand why as my friends were always people of my age group, nobody older and nobody younger. Well, it is true what scripture says when I was a Child, I thought like a Child. That was just me thinking like the young kid I was. But that has changed now. In fact, since my teen days, so many things have changed and my perception of the World and some things have also changed. I think something that was never there has just been exposed. Something I never thought I could enjoy has become something I really enjoy.
That thing is chatting with people much older than I am. I have grown fond of mature and elderly people and i enjoy spending time with them. In my interactions with them, I learn a lot about life and so much I never knew. They say if you want to be wise, always be around a wise person. And what a better place to go to when we have some elderly kind-hearted men out there with so much wisdom ever looking for someone to transfer it too. In my short while chatting with elderly people,I see maturity in my words, actions and above all, liking the man I am becoming.
The reason why so many young people make so many mistakes in life is because, they never sit down or go closer to their parents or other elderly people for advice or talks that can help or provide solutions to their problems. I see so many teens out there with problems go seeking for advice from their teen friends who most at times push them in the wrong direction.
How can a novice advise another novice about life's issues? Is the question I always ask myself at some point hahahahha..
Anyways, I just want to say there is knowledge out there. We have so many elderly men full of wisdom who are ready to pass what they know to the young. I believe this generation has a lot to learn and the older generation has a legacy to pass. As for me, I am always ready to spend time with the men because I enjoy it and how I love our chats about some issues. 馃槄馃槄
