I was supposed to post about another topic, even had the post already prepared in my mind with the content I wanted to share, but it happens that, before doing so, I had gone out for a tour around the stores as I needed to buy some things. I was just at the entrance door of a store, waiting in line to enter while having a pleasant exchange with about a post she had written, and in turn about one I had wrote a few days ago with a similar title to her post, when I suddenly heard a loud noise behind me, when I turned around I was surprised to see that a traffic accident had occurred, due to the negligence of the driver of the gray car shown in the image.
The incident occurred at a downtown intersection on the main street of the city, marked by the usual vertical and horizontal traffic signals. Yes, there are traffic lights placed at these corners as well, they facilitate a little more order in the traffic and provide some discipline in driving, but, unfortunately, there was no electricity so the traffic lights were not working.
The fact that the traffic light was not working does not exempt the drivers of any vehicle from the responsibility of complying and respecting the signals, nor does it justify that they are negligent or undisciplined when driving, because it is assumed that when they obtain their driver's license they have all the necessary knowledge about the traffic signals and laws regardless of the existence or not of a traffic light to guide them.
It so happens that the driver of the gray car was traveling on the main street where, when there is no traffic light indicating otherwise, he must make a stop so that vehicles traveling on the cross street can pass. This driver did not respect the signal and continued his march without stopping, so he impacted against an electric tricycle that was coming along the referred street that according to the signals had priority and overturned it because of the impact.
Apparently the traffic officers were very close and heard or saw the incident, because they arrived very quickly to the scene.
Many people were grouped around the overturned tricycle, from where I was I saw that the driver was able to get out of it quickly without any apparent damage, but I also saw that the people who were grouped there were trying to pull out someone who seemed trapped, at that moment I did not understand and that was when I realized that there were passengers on board, I heard someone of those who were there asking for an ambulance because apparently one of the passengers had suffered some physical damage.
I then approached a little closer and although I could not see the passengers, I could see that they were no longer there, only the driver and the traffic officers talking.
The tricycle returned to its normal position with no visible damage either.
It seems that the damage caused to the passenger(s) was not too serious, at least I hope so.
It is sad and sometimes annoying that these things happen due to the negligence and indiscipline of certain people who do not take due care and that by irresponsible actions can cause physical damage or worse to people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time when a crazy irresponsible person who cares about nohing did not respect a “STOP” sign.
Well, in the end my objective of the outing was accomplished, I was a little shocked with the event though. As you have been able to see I managed to take some photos that may not be the best, because of the haste and dissimulation, since the police here do not like much that there are citizens taking pictures since they use to associate it with its use for political publicity purposes, which is not my case of course.
I hope that the negligent driver pays accordingly for his negligence and also that the passengers are well.
Well, I say bye for today, wishing you all a happy week.
