My senior cousin called me some days ago and begged me to come and help his wife out as they were about to conduct his child dedication ceremony. I agreed and told him that the distance from my house to his house is not that far, and it was not like he was living in another state, so I will come down and help out. He promised to support my transportation fare but I told him that there was actually no need as I would pay my way down to his house after all it was not that far.
He told me about the ceremony about three weeks before the ceremony, which was still a good time to plan but also I took it that the notice was still short because I had to also put myself in order before moving from one place to another. I went to the market and shopped for a few baby items and when I was done, I went back home and began to pack my bags.
My cousin called again and asked me when I was coming as the date of the ceremony was just one week to go and I told him that I was actually coming. I left for my cousin's house four days before the dedication ceremony. On my way there, I was seated inside a tricycle and munching on the little groundnut I bought, we came across two ladies who were at the neck of each other in the middle of the road. They had caused serious traffic and made people stand and stare. Our driver packed his tricycle and went out to find out what was happening between them, already there were crowds of people trying to separate them.
I told our driver not to go out so that someone will not mistakenly throw something and it hits him. Because this is why I do not like going to separate fights on the road or anywhere. Our driver went out and asked other people who were there what had happened and they narrated the story that the two girls were actually fighting over a man but the original owner of the man was the other lady.
Before we could say jack! someone had called the cops on them and the cops arrived in a short while and whisked the both of them away. That was how the road was clear for everyone to pass to their destination. I arrived at my cousin's house safely and on reaching there my cousin's wife began asking me if I did not want to come because ever since they begged me to come I did not show up until the time I did. I asked her if I should pack my bags and return to my house because I left lots of things undone and she laughed and apologized that she was only joking. The ceremony was successful and I returned back to my base.
