'Amy I still don't understand why we have to go out of your way to get coffee when I can make a perfect cup for you at home" my brother was grumbling again
I gave him one of my dare me stares and he soon joined me in the car. My brother was close to the truth, not that I was about to let him know that.
I could make a nice cup of coffee at home but there was actually no incentive to do so.
I wouldn't have been in the situation if my car hadn't broken down on me just this morning. I had to get to work and only my brothers car was available at the moment.
It was either take the bus and inconvenience myself or he drives me to work and I inconvenience him. Inconvenience him it was, as I wasn't ready to walk to the bus stop when a perfectly fit slave could take me to work even if he was my brother.
The only downside was that I had to get coffee and the shop was about five minutes in the other direction away from my work.
Which was why my brother was actually grumbling.
As he eased out of the garage, I thought to myself If only he understood what was in the coffee shop five minutes in the other direction.
'If I hear one more word from you Jason. I'm going to loose it" I almost screamed after an eternity of continuous grumbling
"It just doesn't make sense sis. We've passed about three coffee shops, why does it have to be this one?" he asked again
'I won't repeat myself, I already told you it doesn't taste the same elsewhere"
I heard him mumble something that sounded like bully and then PlayStation, but I wasn't interested as long as he was still driving.
My brother was being dramatic because he had PlayStation plans with a couple of his friends.
Jason soon found a corner to park and I literally flew out of the car before he could shout the Hurry up I wasn't willing to hear.
I was soon swinging into the shop as the smell of fresh coffee hit me. I was all smiles as I sauntered up to the good looking incentive I'd gone out of my way to see for the last two months.
They say pilots are one of the best looking people in uniform, but for me nothing comes close to a hot barista making you a hot cup of delicious coffee.
Giving him my best smile as I proclaim "The usual".
"That's funny, but welcome in! What can I get for you?" he says
It took me a few seconds to realize he was actually talking to me. It was definitely Nathan standing in front of me, so it had to be a joke.
'Haha, look who's pulling a joke on a Monday morning" I reply
"Ma'am, can you please place an order"
This whole thing was getting weirder by the second and I wasn't understanding it. This was Nathan, the guy I'd been crushing on for the last two months, the reason I was always coming to this coffee shop even though it wasn't on my way to work.
We already had a connection going in the last week and I was only waiting for him to ask me out. Or was that all in my head?
It looked and sounded like him, but there was something off about him. His eyes had no spark of recognition.
"This has to be a joke right. I come here everyday for the last two months and we even have sort of a thing going" I reply trying to keep the anger out of my voice
'I only just resumed here today, you probably meant my brother Nathan"
"I see you're simply full of BS"
My head was literally about to explode as I stormed out and accidentally bumped into someone.
"Hey Amy" the voice which sounded like Nathan said
I had to be going crazy because Nathan was back inside the shop and here was Nathan standing in front of me.
Oh sh!t he's a twin, my mind immediately put the pieces together.
We walked back to the counter together as he introduced me to his brother Fabian, who actually apologized for the misunderstanding.
I was literally swooning at that point only for my grumbling brother to storm in looking furious and ready to drag me to work.
A job I'd long forgotten I was almost running late to. I introduced my impatient brother to the twins.
'I see you didn't get your cup of coffee Amy, the usual?" Nathan asked
"Yeah the usual, one for him too" I replied all smiles pointing to my brother
We were just about to leave with our coffee when I heard Nathan say the words I'd been waiting for
'Amy, how about we go see a movie together sometime"
"Alright Nathan, I think I'd like that"
I was soon in the car with my brother and was mentally getting ready for some serious teasing, but Jason was focused on his cup of coffee.
'You know what sis, I don't think I've ever tasted coffee this good"
'Told you it doesn't taste the same elsewhere bro"
