Great day today as I started off with a great breakfast. This restaurant is called Kah Hing Restaurant - which was open air and located at the corner of a shoplot in Taman Landbreeze. It was about 5km from the city of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo.
I ordered a wholesome meal, which was the specialty of this restaurant - pork meat sliced, pork meatballs and pork innards like intestines and pork liver. For me, just the sliced meat and meatballs were juuuuust fine. 😅
So, below is the Sang Nyuk Meehoon as locals called it (translation: fresh sliced pork meat with rice vermicelli in soup).
I requested for more vegetables in my Meehoon soup and they gave me the whole forest, which was awesome!
I also ordered the Stuffed Tofu - they were also stuffed with pork - minced pork seasoned with salt and pepper. They tasted wonderful.
The brown slice was actually a piece of pork skin. After being dried, pork skin was cut into small pieces and deep fried. Then, this restaurant chef would layer the skin on a large pot before cooking the tofu. Tofus were delicate and would overcook easily, resulting the tofu to be rough and lots of holes in it. So, the pork skin which were layered below the pot, could protect the tofu from over cooking.
I would recommend this restaurant to all of you non-muslims. You will really taste the fine essence of pork here.
