Out For Lunch with my Hometown Friend at Sweet Forest Cafe!
My hometown friend whom I knew since primary school is around nearby me for roughly a month. She has come to enroll herself in a professional course as a radiologist doctor and will be practising at a general hospital near me.
As of now, she is staying at her friend's house which is nearer to me till she finds her own place and her car shipped over. So last weekend, I went to find her for lunch and passed her a Smart Tag device for her to use.
We did not have a lot of time because I had a tuition earlier till 1pm and she had to be home for a webinar at 3pm. So we settled to eat just somewhere nearby. She suggested a cafe that I know but never been.
Sweet Forest Cafe
This cafe has existed very very long. It does not look like those fancy cafes that we see now. However the variety of food and the taste of the food is not too bad. My friend was the one suggested this place though she is not from here. She had been in her earlier years when she was here studying her specialist as a doctor.

Menu
The menu covers a wide range from rice to noodles and some western food too.
I ordered a smoked duck spaghetti. It was unexpectedly nice and cheap for RM14.90.
My friend ordered a gangnam style fried noodle. Juet look at the amount of vegetables and meat. It is served with century eggs too, how interesting!
We both ordered the cucumber juice with plum each. It was very refreshing and since one of my favorite shops that serve this drink has closed, I have not be able to find another place with it. Now I found it, I will remember this place.
How is the restaurant like
It looks a bit run down as it is old but i feel the customers here are all their regulars. It looks clean still generally. It now accepts QR payment and after the payment gets through, there is a loud announcement for everyone to know. Hahahah I find that amusing.
Desserts after
I told my friend I know of a desserts place that we could pick up some snacks for tea time or dinner. There was no parking near the shop, Lol Soon Kee which is the name. So I dropped my friend off to help us buy.
Got this dry glutinous balls with peanut filling and peanut crumbles on top too. Sooo good!
Also, we tried the Mango Pomelo sago dessert 杨枝甘露 in Chinese. This pairing between pomelo, mango and sago is very refreshing and I loved it! The pomelo is a little bit bitter though maybe due to how it is like this season. This desserts shop is another shop I will be back for because of so many desserts I want to try too.
