As some of you may know, I recently enjoy food with very heavy taste and that brings me to more Chinese Muslim cuisine and cooking! Hence I came to this shop near my house called Kungfu Ramen.

The ramen here is not the Japanese type of ramen but rather 拉面 which is the China hand pulled noodle, La- Mian. Nothing to do with any kingfu or martial arts here, unless the technique to hand pull the noodles is considered as the martial art or kungfu.

Kungfu Ramen

Address: 12, Jalan Bandar 2, Taman Melawati, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours: 2pm to 11pm daily, 3pm to 11pm on Fridays

This shop has been around for a very long time. However, I also forgot about it until one day I was looking for Chinese Muslim food and wanted a bowl of noodles with soup. I finally visited it again.

The shop has a very wide range on their menu, from rice to noodles to dumplings to skewers.

Very hard for me particularly to choose because I feel like eating a lot of their dishes. If you have not tried Chinese Muslim cooking, their food is very tasty and has a combination of very good flavours.

I ordered different things at my different visit.

At my first visit, I wamted their hand pulled noodle which is their la-mian because I remember its flavourful broth. So I ordered one Lamb la-mian. Its soup is extra flavourful and the lamb pieces were so tender and nice.

It was already very tasty by itself but I could not resist their powerful chili oil that originates from China. I added some in and the soup became even more powerful because of the fragrance of the chilli oil.

This chilli looks spicy but actually it is not that spicy. So yummy and it enhanced the whole soup.

During my second visit, I ordered the lamb skewer dish. This was because I kept seeing the China Chinese celebrities eating this in their variety show so it often makes me wonder how it tastes like. I imagine it having a lot of cumin powder and very tasty. Well it turned out to be very tender meat but a little bit undertaste. Maybe my expectation was higher after warching how the celebrities enjoyed theirs hahan.

I also ordered some beef dumplings because I personally very like beef and dumplings. This is sort of their staple and it did not disappoint. It was nice!

This shop is very simple with just tables and chairs arranged. Nothing too fancy, if you ask me but it is good enough for good food to be served.

There is a place where they hand pull their noodles in front of customers upon order. Behind the station, there is a signage saying 天下第一面meaning the best noodle in the world.

Oh well I have recommended this place to many of my friends and family. Some find the food a bit undertaste but it is actually good enough for me. Sometimes when I want to have a meal alone, I do come here for a quick meal as the shop is located on my way home anyway.
