I haven't been eating out much lately except for Sundays after church but this was one of my eat-outs with my in-laws during the school holiday when we needed to run some errands.

It was a day I planned to bring them to some government agencies to settle some matters but it was disappointing that the officer informed us that for their address, we needed to go to another branch that is further away. This was after we queued and parked from quite a far parking bay and walked all the way to a new building where the office has moved to.

Hence we decided to just go for a lunch break to gather our thoughts during the meal on how to go about next. My boys were with me and they tagged along too.

There are many new shops opened in an old neighbourbood mall that got revamped. Good to see some new lives injected into the mall. One of them is Black Canyon.

We have tasted the other branches of this eatery in other malls but it is my first time visiting this new outlet. It is clean and everything looks new and nice. It has a colour code of red, black and light brown colour which is pleasing to the eyes. It is spacious with good seats arrangments.

There are some promotions going on but we didnt go for that. This shop serves fusion of local Asian food as well as some Western cuisine.

Club Sandwich

My father-in-law ordered this, which comes with some fries as he was not too hungry. The portion was alright and I guess it tastes good too because apparently it is his second time ordering the same food.

Chicken Green Curry with Rice

This was my order. I haven't eaten green curry in a while so this was actually pretty good for me. The green roubd brinjal was nice and the chicken was also tasty. The gravy was addictive which made me eat more rice than usual. The only thing I wish they would improve is perhaps more chicken pieces?

Pineapple fried rice

My children eat this almost every time we come to a similar shop to this because they have a sister shop called Johnny's. However Johnny's does a better job in this same dish. Of course it was still alright.

Pad Thai

My mum-in-law ordered a Pad Thai. She said it was more similar to char kuey teow though it was still delicious.

Tub Tim Krob

This desserts is also my go-for if I see it available on the menu. It is also called red rubies because it is water chestnuts coated in tapioca flour with red colouring, served in coconut milk. I personally like this, though some pieces of jackfruit will be a great bonus!

In this shop, they use the robot server to minimize the workers to serve food. My youngest son is very intrigued by it or any shop that uses this service.

Generally the dining experience was pleasant. The food came a little slow but acceptable I guess. It is a good place to come again if we are not in a rush.
