Have you ever had a "favorite beer"?
And then suddenly the board changes and you have to think, is it a time for a change? Do I need a new favorite beer. The one beer that is your absolute go to beer?
I have noticed that since Christmas, I have changed my "go to" beer. Now this is a beer that I have had before, and it is a beer that I will have again, and for now it is the beer that I am enjoying again and again.
I find that I go through cycles with the beers I tend to drink, as a direct result of #beersaturday. Every #beersaturday, I try to share a new beer with all you, mix it up so to speak. And yet behind the scenes of the great interweb, I tend to be sipping a certain brew that just site right with me.
The board is set all the same and then moves are made and everything needs to be mixed up a bit. So these past few weeks the board has changed and I find myself drawn to a new favorite.
The odd thing is that I had this beer years ago, and even featured this beer on #beersturday. And yet as of late this Ale has struck my fancy, and unless I see something that really intrigues me, Gaelic Ale by Highland Brewing has become my go to brew.
BEER NAME: Gaelic Ale
STYLE: Ale
ABV: 5.5%
BREWER: Highland Brewery, Asheville North Carolina
APPEARANCE: ruby-brown, pours with a nice foamy head, clear
AROMA: toasted malts
TASTE: toffee with well balanced hops for a little bitters at the finish
MOUTHFEEL: light-medium body, carbonates well, with a clean finish, the slight bitters linger.
Yep that is what I am drinking these days behind the scenes, so now everyone knows the pieces that are on the board.
I have a #beersaturday tradition of sorts. I ask a trivia question and the first person to Answer correctly in the COMMENTS wins a BEER TOKEN!
QUESTION: In the game of chess, name the piece that can only move diagonally, both forward and backward?
Good Luck and I will see y'all next #beersaturday.
