In Vietnam, Rice and Pho are very popular dishes. They are respectively 2
symbols for family meal and dine outside; and people can say that “Rice likes a wife and Pho likes a mistress”.
There are some funny things for explaining why they are called like that:
- Rice is cheaper than Pho, thus a man can’t enjoy Pho anytime he wants. On the other hand, he has rice every day, some time he don’t want to but he has to.
- A man has to dine in a familiar kitchen day-by-day that makes him bored while if he eats Pho, he will be enjoy in a luxury restaurant with good looking decoration and gentle music.
- A man can’t eat more rice if he is full of stomach but he can eat a Pho bowl in this situation.
- After having rice, a man maybe has to clean the dishes but having Pho, he’s not because the relax time of his wife is the best importance.
- A man can change Pho’s restaurant very easy but he will get big troubles if he changes the woman who cooks for him.
