There are a number of ways that one can accumulate Ecency Points. And at the same time there are a couple of use cases where one can leverage the Ecency Points earned. Depending on ones circumstances and needs people can use the Ecency Points to either Promote, Boost or Gift those points.
Points can be used for in-app services, like Promote, Boost, Gifting. Earn them just by using Ecency apps and improve your experience.
I am mainly earning Ecency Points by delegating my HIVE POWER aka HP. As seen from the above image, I have delegated close to 3K+ HP out of the 26K+ Hive Power delegated to the different project here on the Hive Blockchain. The HP delgated to Ecency App, gets me close to 300+ Ecency Points daily. Here is the recent summary of my Ecency Points::
Major chunk which is 303+ points were earned due to HP delegation rewards. You normally earn ~ 100 points for every 1K+ Hive power delegated. Along with the points earn you also get the 100% curation reward share and for me its coming out to be around 0.872 $HIVE daily.
Finally, on how I am leveraging the Ecency Point? I like the boost functionality of the Ecency App and normally spend close to 250+ points for boosting my posts to get more visibility of my content. No doubt you can also get an upvote from Ecency account by spending the points on Promote feature but somehow I am not using this feature for now to get an upvote. As my criteria is set to get more visibility of my content on the blockchain. Definitely as stated this would change on a need basis as to what you want from your points earned. So far I have 25K+ Ecency Points handy and its worth $51+. The plan is to have my delegation of HP remain with the Ecency App and continue to increase the delegation and bring it to 5K+ HP delegated.
