Some of you might remember that I told I will go back to Iceland again for the third time in August. Well, I did go and now I will start sharing content about what I did there. I only went there for 2 days basically and came back on the third day. It was a solo trip and a very unexpected one. The main purpose was to see an erupting volcano that started a bit earlier. Even though I was there only for 2 days, I got to see many locations that I still hadn't previously and overall it was an awesome experience like every trip t Iceland has been.
The plan was to stay on Reykjanes peninsula for 2 days, that changed on the second day but on the first day, I stayed there. Here are the two first places I visited in the morning after I got my rental car.
This place is at the western tip of Reykjanes peninsula. I wanted to go there at the start of the Second trip to Iceland but for some reason we didn't. There are two lighthouses but the one in the picture below is older, dating back to 1897.
I don't know if it was a low tide but there was so much free land that seems to often be underwater.
The weather was well... poor. I got greeted by a usual rain burst while there. After being on Iceland for a total of 6 weeks, this weather does not surprise me, also I have seen MUCH worse.

Having eaten a traditional Icelandic hot dog I have grown to love, I made my way to the next location over the empty 800-year-old lava fields.
The name... I don't know. In fact, I am unable to find it on google maps. I know the road where I drove to get there, it was right next to the road and I can't fucking find it. This is not a huge area to look for. It's about an 8km stretch of road but I still cant find it after 10 minutes of looking for it.
Anyway, it's a really random place actually. There are two rock formations I went to see.
I decided to climb the rocks. From there I could see far over the empty rock surface. No nothing in sight, no people, no structures, just an empty hardened lava desert. Quite a surreal feeling to be there.
I can't wait to share loads of more locations I visited and hikes I did in Iceland.
