The first real mountain hike we did in Poland was up to a mountain named Nosal. It was not the end destination for this day but for the sake of this post, I'm going to include only the hike up to this peak currently. Nosal is at the edge of the High Tatra mountain range, and the top is 1206 meters above sea level.
For us, it was not an insane altitude gain, since we already started the hike at 900m of elevation, but the trail was steep. Very steep at the start. I didn't take photos there, so unfortunately I can't show you the start of the trail. The first photo I have was taken around halfway up to the top.
The few buildings you see in the middle of the mountains is a small village of Kuźnice.
The weather on that day was fairly miserable at times. It rained a lot, and oftentimes the views were not visible. Fortunately, at times the heavy rain cleared and we saw the foggy and cloudy mountain views. It was still really spectacular.
This is me, overlooking the valley.
It didn't take long until we reached the top of Nosal. Unfortunately for us, it was just starting to rain more heavily at that time, and I was losing my opportunity to get any photos up there. The visibility was getting worse by the second. SO I quickly took out my camera and managed to take two shots.
This rocky outcrop was the exact top of this mountain. As you can see, you can barely see the mountainous landscape in the background.
I didn't take more landscape shots of the place. I have one photo of my girlfriend and my friend. We took a short break to eat an energy bar and prepared to hike further up in the mountains.
In the next post, you will see where we finally ended up that day. Fortunately, the weather got a bit better later in the day, and we were able to see some extremely spectacular places and views. Stay tuned!
