There is always something about abandoned buildings that seem mysterious and pulls you to see closer. As we were traveling on Porto Santo, I noticed a building on the road that looked abandoned. I wondered if I can get any closer and see what there is to see. Indeed there was a forgotten gravel road that led to the building but I had to ditch my quad bike halfway there due to blockage on the path.
It's located in quite a scenic place and whenever someone lived there, he/she would have every morning to wake up to great views. In the photo below you can see the place in the middle of the empty plains.
View to the other side
By the looks of the patterns on the field, it looks like it was used for farming. A lot of stone fences and stuff.
Let's get a bit closer. All that's left is pretty much rubble. Collapsed roof and the walls don't seem that sturdy either. It looks like it has been abandoned for a long while.
An interesting tree was in the yard. I don't think I have seen a tree like this before.
I tried to get inside but there were rusted nails and other rusted metal everywhere, I was afraid to cut myself with these things. Somehow I still managed to get a short glimpse inside. Not much there, just some junk.
A couple of shots of the fields that were used on this farm.
A side building on a field. I didn't go to see it close but I doubt there would have been anything noteworthy to see.
Finally, some cool plants I saw in the yard there.
Wouldnt want to fall into this thorned monstrosity.
By the marks and tire tracks, it seems like someone still goes there and does something. Unfortunately, I have no idea why someone goes there and what he/she does in this forgotten place. It was cool to see it still.
