I thought we were supposed to feel sober when we lose loved ones. So why does it feel like there's so much celebration and jubilation during the burial? Why are people dancing and laughing during such a solemn moment?
It's just a thought, only a thought.
Don't judge me yet.
I am allowed to be sensitive
I always believed food and drinks were ment for parties, and celebrations.
So why are people fighting over Jollof rice and takeaway extras at a funeral? Some even bring coolers to take home meals for the next day
It’s honestly shameful.
I thought I was supposed to cry and grieve when I feel sad?
Why is everyone considering it weakness to show my emotion?
Why do people feel they have the right to tell me how to mourn my loved one?
I thought grief was supposed to show on our faces?
So why is Aunt Ngozi wearing makeup and gele to the funeral? And she is even dancing like it's a party.
People move on so quickly, as if nothing has happened, and even advise the bereaved to do the same.
So sad.
It’s painful how we lose our emotions without even realizing it. It’s disheartening to see how people no longer show genuine sympathy.
Can we have more authentic, heartfelt expression of grief, where people are allowed to be vulnerable and emotional without judgment
What happened to empathy and true human connection? We’ve become emotionless.
