Picture this...

  • Alarm clock goes off just after 4A.M.
  • Get the percolator going for the morning coffee
  • Let the dogs outside
  • Turn on the news
  • Wake Mr Golden D up for work
  • Two hours later (after I have finished the DQ for qurator@qurator, done some other curating) have my third cup of coffee and it dons on me!

Today is my wedding anniversary!

OOPS!
Yeah I am that un-romantic when it comes to special days and even holidays of love

Yup! Seven years ago, we headed off to the judge's chambers to exchange vows!

I have always been the most unromantic person in a relationship. Probably always will be.
I just don't think about all that lovey-dovey stuff. Exchanging cards. Giving or receiving trinkets or jewelry. Flowers? Not my thing. Heck about three months ago Mr Golden D gave me a dozen roses (just because) and all I could think about was how long until the flowers die off and I can fully dehydrate the petals for my homestead apothecary?

Six days and these petals were in the dehydrator so I could add to some of my homemade soaps.

Like most couples, whether married or in a committed relationship, we've had our ups-and-downs over the years.

Financial concerns, arguments, outside influences trying to bat us down... Yes, we've had our personal trials and tribulations. Even though it's only been seven years of marriage, it seems like the time has flown by.

Over the last seven years we have:

  • Suffered through many health issues (his heart attack, my auto immune disease)
  • Accumulated many laughs, smiles and even disagreements
  • Found our rhythm with each other
  • Learned to accept each other's faults and weaknesses
  • Learned to lean on one another when past relationships failed at this
  • Discovered the other's strengths

I am not a person who says, my soul mate. That phrase seems to be used too often.

I prefer to say... it was meant to be and everything happens for a reason.

We discovered each other when we were both at a very low point in our lives; and we encouraged each other to lift ourselves up. We started out chatting... messaging... texting. And from there, our life evolved.
