My Parents had five of us, needless to say growing up was an adventure. Due to the demands of raising five kids they had to make a lot of financial sacrifices for us but we certainly never felt poor, even though we knew we weren't rich. One beautiful part of coming from a large family is of course relationship among siblings.
I have heard of siblings rivalry and siblings having a permanent fall out. Heck, I've even seen one with my eyes where three sisters do not talk to each other till this day. Yet such an experience will always seem strange to me based on my relationship with my siblings. Even in our moments of friction (we especially had that during our younger years), we understood that we were family and as such it meant we had to stick together.
These days due to work and adult responsibilities we live far apart from each other but we've always held that communication irrespective of distance. Whenever we reunite it's usually a blast. Three of my older siblings have kids of their own now so the family has gotten even bigger. It's also interesting to see how we each went our separate ways in our careers but those family ties means we always share a connection.
I believe as siblings we're each others natural best friends even though the demands of adult life have set us down very different paths.
