What Is Community?

While Merrian Webster's main definition of community is:

a unified body of individuals: such as
a : the people with common interests living in a particular area

Community on steemit goes beyond that.

I have been involved in dozens and dozens of communities over the last 23 months while on steemit; but none for as long as @qurator. While some communities come on strong and stay the path for quite some time... there has only been two that I have been with almost since the beginning of their conception... AND THEY ARE BOTH STILL HERE AND ACTIVE!

One? @steemitbloggers AKA #powerhousecreatives now

Two? @qurator

They both have been a mainstay on the platform, always supporting members, having daily or weekly newsletters, challenges and other fun posts to get the community and members involved and they are two groups that I faithfully follow daily.

Who Is @qurator?#

Who are the staff that keep @qurator running?

@scrooger | @boontjie | @goldendawne | @ewkaw | @ackhoo | @brumest | @stresskiller | @blacklux

YEAH... that's me! I write the Daily Q newsletters every day of the week, pick out the Shooting Star member of the week and the Shining Qurite of the week.

@qurator is also...

• A witness (ranked 74)
• Has a support bot @Qustodian
• Tasty Tuesday, Toss Up Thursday and Photo Friday challenges for members
• Referral bonuses for members
• A Steemauto Curation Trail

And soon we'll be having some more new and exciting things happening over the next month or so for our members! We're always striving for more community involvement and member benefits!

How @qurator Gives Unselfishly

You may remember a few months back when @theycallmedan had a delegation contest Well, @qurator was one of the finalists in the running to receive the delegation but when the end was near the owner and co-founder (@scrooger) of @qurator knew there was a slim chance his community would win; but he also saw how close @steemitbloggers was to winning, @scrooger stepped away and asked all the Qurites (that's our nickname) to support the steemitbloggers!

See his post here

There are after all quite a few steemitbloggers members that are ALSO @qurator members!

And in the end... steemitbloggers DID win that delegation!!
