A lot of us, especially from the millennial generation backwards were raised strictly which has shaped us into the adults we are today, respectful, always following the rules, and skipping the part of life that needs us to be stubborn and daring after all, stubbornness has been shaped in our mindset to be a bad thing always, but is it, really?
Now take a look at the present genZ and X generation, the go getters, the stubborn and daring generation how they've changed the scheme work of things and no longer follow the laid-down rules, for example, you have to see the four walls of a primary, secondary, and university to become a slave to your employer before you can live a comfortable life, probably in your 50's when you've enslaved your youth and miss out on most important moments of your life.
They dared to be stubborn, face their passion/talents, and didn't have to wait anymore, well, we've seen those who were successful enough to motivate others to do as well build a business and create a name for themselves even at a very young age.
Stubbornness is not necessarily wrong most of the time, as long as it's for a good deed and is not getting anyone hurt in the process.
There are times I have been stubborn about a cause and of course, regret it later and times I'm glad I took that stubborn stance especially when it yields the result I anticipated.
My regrettable stubborn moments would have to be as a kid because as an adult I'm mostly a calm and understanding person, and whatever would make me take a stubborn stance would definitely have to be worth it. I remember being sent on an errand, I think I was about 8 years of age, my mother had just had my second baby sister and was still being admitted to the hospital while I was home alone with my aunt excited and still awaiting their arrival.
I thought to dress well to welcome our new baby, but my aunt decided to send me on an errand outside the gate to get her a bar soap, I didn't bulge because I seriously wanted to get dressed that moment before answering her, but she wasn't having it, she dragged me out in my undies( which wasn't a big deal then) to go get her the bar soap, I still stubbornly refused, hehe, I received the beating of my life, probably the reason the memory is still fresh till date, I was also punished to always do the dishes henceforth.
As for the time stubbornness paid of was when my husband was against me leaving my job for fashion designing, as most people saw it as an illiterate job, bug I proved to him that as a literate, I could do do much more as a fashion designer, well, today, he is also glad I stubbornly went against his will as fashion designing worked out even more than I envisioned.
