The reason why love is always preached everywhere is that, when you love your neighbor, it will be difficult for you to do any harm to them. And one of the bad habits I detest a lot that humans do is Cheating, This is a dishonest and unethical character that springs up from selfishness, in the long run causing distrust, a cheater lacks conscience and doesn't care about how the second party feels, Cheating is not only morally wrong but also destructive to relationships. It betrays the trust of the person who has been cheated on. It is important to remember that honesty and respect are the foundations of any successful relationship and this does not only applies to romantic relationship.
WHY THEN DO PEOPLE CHEAT?
Cheating can be caused by a variety of factors, such as dissatisfaction, insecurity, boredom, impulsiveness, or a desire to escape a problematic relationship Ultimately, it is an act of selfishness that disregards the feelings of the other person. It is important to be aware of the consequences of cheating and strive to maintain trust and respect in any relationship, be it a business relationship, a romantic one, or even among family and friends.
Have I ever cheated or been cheated on?
Most of the time, I've been faced with situations that would want to make me cheat, but one thing that helps me stay afloat and best this bad nature in some humans is that I believe in the law of karma, also I will rather allow my conscience to be at peace with the little I've got rather than cheat others and not have peace of mind. One event that stood out recently was when a woman overpaid me for a service I rendered to her, maybe due to her very busy schedule, she forgets things easily, I'm not sure, when I saw her alert, I called her and quickly informed her of the excess pay, she was touched because if I didn't call her she wouldn't have known, according to her, she makes numerous transactions with huge amount for mine to go unnoticed. With this act of mine, she just told me to keep the excess for the next job she will give me, which we are not even sure of the amount yet. imagine if I kept quiet, I would have robbed myself of my peace of mind and probably lose that very good client, because, even though she said she wouldn't have noticed, the way karma works, this particular one might have gotten noticed, sooner or later.
It's sad no matter how good we are to people, we still get cheated on, I use to have a girl that works for me that most people thought was even my sister because of the way I treated her, I shared my meals with her to know how close we were, also showed her where she could help me buy materials for my job because of the nature of my job doesn't always give me enough tome to go to the market, there is a particular project I do buy in bulk on a regular and each goes for 1000 naira per one, I could buy 50 pieces in a week, depending on the sales the previous week, then inflation started hitting the prices of most products in the market, she called me one day while she was at the market and told me it is now sold for 1400, I was annoyed with our economy, meaning the profits on these goods will be reduced to nothing now, I couldn't disappoint my customers, so I told her to buy it and forgo some other goods, this went on for a month, I was chanced one day and decided to go to the market myself, only for me to realize that the girl I trusted had been deceiving and cheating me the whole time, almost ruining my business because I thought of quitting at some point, the price of the product was never increased after verifying from the seller and she had been buying the normal price, she only took advantage of the trust I had for her. I confronted her and she suddenly started crying and pleading for forgiveness, the did has been done, I have forgiven her but never can I trust her again, in fact, this very did cut short the relationship we had going and kind of tells me not to be too good to be seen as a fool anymore.
Conclusion
Cheating is bad, in whatever way, it doesn't make the cheater smarter than the one being cheated, you not only lose your trust you make people stop being good to others that deserve it because of this very act.
