Greetings dear creative Hivers, I hope you are all doing great today with a favorable weather condition probably better than mine, as it's so hot right here, that I miss the previous cold weather we have no choice but to adjust our lifestyle, especially clothing choice that suits the weather, weather cold or hot, we need both kinds of weather to create a balance in our world. Yesterday happened to be my first daughter's birthday; it was a happy day for us, that I got carried away entertaining friends and family that visited and even missed out on my posting streak yesterday, not to worry, I made it today, even got inspired by one of my friends.
Do you know there are some sets of people that get affected by the change of weather especially when it is hot, the pregnant mums are one of these sets, also clothing becomes a kind of challenge during this precious and amazing moment of their lives, and that was what inspired today's blouse making, being a mum of two beautiful daughters, I knew exactly how my friend who is also expecting mum felt explaining how she feels during yesterday's celebration, though she is just rounding up her first trimester but the weather is already messing with her and adding on some baby weight as well has limited her clothing choice since she still goes to work.
I decided to ease her of this discomfort by making her some new mummy wears, starting with this free fitted and comfy circle blouse, just so you know, anyone can adorn this beautiful blouse as it's free and comfy design makes it breathable for this current hot weather, it can be styled with a jean trouser just like in these images, or skirt, as you prefer.
The more interesting part is that it is an easy to make blouse and it took me just 30 minutes to get it completed.
Materials used
- Ankara fabric
- matching thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by folding the fabric in four folds, first by the middle then from up to down, this material is actually a left over of about one and half metres from a previous dress I made, it is better to put it into good use than just have it cluttering my sewing space.
- Next, I started drafting and marking the measurement needed using my chalk directly on the fabric
- Continuing, I cut out the drafted pattern, and opened it up to deepen the front neck depth, I used 4.5 inches width and depth for the front, and 1.5 inches depth for the back.
- Next, I cut out a bias strip using same fabric, that I used in piping around the neckline.
- I also fold in the hem of the sleeves and the blouse itself
- Finally, I sewed both sides of the blouse, and that completes this beautiful circle blouse.
I hope you find these steps of making this beautiful blouse easy to follow, will you be making yours? It's easy and less time consuming to recreate, looking forward to what you feel about this blouse.
