Hello, dear creative hive friends, I hope you are all having a good day. Thank God it's Friday, yay!
I know a lot of people are always excited on Friday, compared to other days of the week, because it ushers us into a relaxing weekend for most of us, while some others just part and have fun moments with friends and family.
Over here in my country, it's not any different; in fact, Saturdays are known for weddings and other get-togethers or parties with family and friends. Just when i thought I would have a relaxing Friday myself, into the weekend, after recovering a bit from malaria, only for me to receive a call from my aunty, she wanted me to make her a quick and elegant dress for an occasion, a friend's daughter wedding dhe hopes to attend tomorrow, she got the fabric needed late, the reason for the rush.
Only my aunt can, out of the blue, demand that I make her an urgent dress without any prior notice, because she knows she is my favourite, and so i am to her, the brocade fabric she got was about 2 yards and wasn't enough to make the style she had in ming, a long flowing, free fitted dress with bishop collar, or what some people call turtle neck.
So I had to source a matching plain fabric from the fabric store closest to me and settled for this beautiful liquid mikado fabric, which I think combines perfectly for the style I created.
So without further ado, let's get right into the making process
Continuing, I cut out the collar pattern and sewed it around the neckline area
Then I joined the sides of the dress
