Once Lord Buddha was doing his Chaturmas in Pataliputra. Many people used to listen to their message.
It is a day that at the time of the discourse, his disciple Anand asked - Bhante, thousands of people are sitting in front of you. Who is the happiest among them?
Buddha said - Look, the person who is sitting on the back of the first, is the happiest person.
Listening to this answer did not solve the problem of happiness. He said - how can this be?
Buddha said - I'll tell you right now.
They asked the people sitting in front of the front - what do you want?
Someone asked for wealth, someone got children, someone asked for liberation from illness, someone asked for a victory over their enemies, someone prayed for victory in the trial. Not even a single man came out, who has not asked for something. In the end, the turn of that rattling man came. Buddha asked - Say brother, what do you want?
That man said - nothing. If God has to give something, then just do so that there is never any desire in me. I consider myself as such a happier person.
Then Buddha said to Anand - Anand! Wherever you want, there can not be happiness.
