One of the favorite food in the Philippines, especially that we are an archipelago and have an access to the freshest of shellfish and crustaceans, is shrimps! Usually this is served when we have guests or visitors in the house, not the "normal" food. Aside from it is costly, it is also high in cholesterol!
Well, a few weeks ago we had friends visiting and we served these.
We have two shrimp dishes. One is sautéed and the other is with coconut milk and squash. The latter is our favorite, but since my mom is allergic to any coconut product, she cannot have our favorite. So before we put some coconut milk in the shrimp, we separated some for her.
The shrimps in coconut milk is a super simple way of serving shrimps, but mind you, it is one the tastiest and flavorful dish that you can ever have! Arrgghhhh! Just telling you all about it makes me crave for it! The saying in our national language, "sabaw pa lang, ulam na," which basically means, "the soup alone is already a dish," is an appropriate definition of this dish! Yum, yum! 😋
