Felipe was a lonely man in his early thirties. According to him, his profession was writing, even though he had not published a single book; he was just writing his first.

One day, he entered a bookshop located on Beethoven Street in the beautiful city of Caracas. He was looking for a book that would captivate him with its title and cover; nothing special. Philip loved suspense novels with a certain touch of fiction.

As he browsed through the books, he saw a red-haired woman enter the shop, about 30 years old, of average height, dressed in jeans, white flannel, and tennis shoes. She was the woman he had had in his mind since he was a teenager, the one he had asked the universe to be his eternal love. He believed that if you asked with faith, the universe would move in your favour; it would grant your wish.

Captivated by the woman, Philip stopped looking for books and only pretended to do so to watch the woman's movements. Until someone grabbed him by the left shoulder and asked him in a loud voice:

-What are you doing, do you like the girl?

It was the woman in charge of the bookshop who asked the question. He looked surprised and regretted that he had been caught in the act. But nervousness took over when he realized that the red-haired woman had heard the clerk's words. At that moment, the first exchange of glances between him and the red-haired woman took place. Philip wanted to die.

Philip picked out a book without seeing the title or cover and went to the cashier to pay for it. Coincidentally, the redhead had also picked up a book and went to the same checkout. There they exchanged glances again and she was the bold one. She greeted him with a "hello" that sounded to him like a heavenly song. They both felt attracted, and they began to talk about books, about tastes, about life. From that moment on, they became inseparable.

They soon proved to be a perfect match. They shared the same interests, had deep conversations, and understood each other perfectly. They spent hours together, enjoying each other's company, and never tired of each other. Everything seemed to indicate that they were destined to be together forever. Philip wanted to marry her.

One day, however, everything changed. Sofia arrived at Philip's house with a serious expression on her face. Philip knew something wasn't right, but he never expected what was to come. Sofia handed him a small envelope and told him to open it. Philip opened the envelope and found a page divider.

-What is this? -he asked.

-Read the note. -She replied.

The note said:

"I'm sorry, Philip, but this is all I can offer you."

Philip did not understand what was happening, but he soon realized that Sofia was ending her relationship with him. He tried to talk to her, but she was adamant in her decision. Sofia explained that she had met someone else and that she had to move on.

Philip was devastated, he had never felt such pain in his life. He had lost his ideal woman and his heart was broken.

The next few days were very difficult for Philip. He tried to move on, but his heart was broken. He tried to write, but he couldn't concentrate. All he could think about was Sofia.

He clung to the page divider Sofia had given him. It became a constant reminder of what he had lost and what could have been. Every time he saw the bookmark, his heart ached more.

After a long time, Philip was finally able to finish his first book. It was nothing like the first draft, it had changed in its entirety. He wrote a novel whose title was: "The page divider that broke a Heart"; the pain passed when the income from the sales came in.
