I guess I spent too much time trying to figure out the things I will go home with if given five minutes to shop for free and that's why this article is coming at this time. While writing, I felt like many supermarkets across Nigeria must have been emptied by my fellow Hive learner members since almost everyone shopped before me.
I got a hint that they are yet to visit one of the big supermarkets in my city so I will be heading there to do some shopping. A five minutes free shopping will go a long way for me at the moment since my birthday is just a week from now. I plan to pamper myself in a small way on that day and getting myself a gift is another thing I was hoping to do.
Free shopping at this time means I am getting early birthday gifts and they will be things I truly desire.
Trust me when I say that I have a long list of things I would love to pick in a store for free and five minutes wouldn't be enough.
You need to see me smiling right now, imagination wants to kill me.
Immediately we arrived at the shopping mall, I was reminded by the sponsor of the free shopping that anything I take after five minutes will be returned so I have to be as fast as possible.
While we walk through the mall, I quickly scanned the whole place to know where the electronics, mobile phones, jewelry, and footwear were sold.
I got a trolley and waited for the command to start shopping. While waiting, I scanned the place again and was sure that I know where to go to pick the things I wanted.
Finally, the command came and I set out to make myself happy. The electronics shop was the closest to me so I went in there first.
I took a 68 inches LG smart TV, an LG ultrasound home theater, and a portable Thermocool generator. A washing machine was actually eyeing me but it would be too heavy to carry around and it might slow me down, the generator had tires so it was easy to move it quickly.
I checked the time and I have exhausted two minutes in the electronics shop. With three minutes left, I wish I could pause the time so I can shop longer but it wasn't possible.
I dashed into the gadget area of the supermarket and took a MacBook Pro, an iPhone 14, one of the latest Samsung phones, an ear pod, a PS5, and a power bank.
I spent less than a minute there so I moved to the shoes and jewelry section. I took diamond rings for couples, gold earrings and bracelets, four sneakers, and three wristwatches.
Checking the sizes of these things wasted my time and the remaining forty-five seconds was spent packing groceries and food items. I packed cartons of noodles, 25kg of rice, pack of spaghetti, a bag of semolina, butter, yam flour, beverages, deodorants, and a few other items.
I remembered walking past a freezer for frozen foods earlier so I rushed back and immediately took a pack of turkey out of the freezer, I was about to take another when my sponsor told me that my time was up.
I am glad the turkey made it into the list of things I got and I was assisted in pushing the other eight trolleys filled with gadgets, food items, electronics, and others.
We got to the cashier and I was shocked at the worth of things I got in five minutes. My sponsor paid and a truck helped me move everything to my house. After settling down, I distributed some of the items I intentionally got in excess so that I can also bless people with them.
My siblings and mom got theirs as well, can you figure out what I got for them?
It was a great time shopping for free and after daydreaming about all these things, I really hope I can get five minutes to shop for free as a birthday gift.
