Sometimes in life we wonder what we can do to find meaning and significance to our existence. We often complain we don't have enough money to buy what we need let alone help those financially in need. We lament frequently about being too busy to spend time with family or friends in need of company or moral support. Time and again we always think we have so little to share with those around us even if they have less than us. Well, I just received a meaningful post from a friend which showed me how we can address these challenges in life.
I believe being good all begins with an understanding of how one wants to be treated in life. We all want to be loved. No one can say he doesn't want love. He would either be a paranoid, a cynic, a narcissist or a severely disturbed person.
These are the basic elements of goodness. We can all be good persons, really. Maybe not to everyone but to those we can at first. As someone once asked a holy person, "How do I feed all these hungry persons?" and He answered, "Feed one." With constant practice at goodness, it becomes a habit that you will be eternally grateful you started on, not only in this here our earthly life, but when you finally enter the kingdom God has prepared for you.
