Who is a good person, one question that is a bit difficult to answer for some people. When this question is being asked, people tend to see a good person as someone who is generous, someone who can give even when the giving doesn't sit well with him. While some say that a honest person is a good person. But personally, I don't think one factor can really tell who a good person is. It's not by generousity , not by wealth, but by the little decisions we make on daily basis, how we treat people around us irrespective of the status , background, religion affiliation etc.
To me , a good person is someone who shows kindness to others expecting nothing in return, he or she give with his whole heart when his spirit tells him to and he does that voluntarily. A good person shows and give respect to everyone who deserves it, irrespective of the person's background, political affiliation or age. They understand that everybody deserves dignity and compassion. In a world where many people are quick to judge and criticize, a good person chooses understanding instead of criticism, and even when the critics is necessary, he does it constructively.
Another quality of a good person is honesty, a good person accept responsibility when they are wrong and they stand for what is right at all times and speak the truth. It doesn't mean that they are perfect, but they understand that no human is perfect but they are just striving to be better. They show integrity even when no one is watching.
Another quality of a good person is his willingness the help or assist others voluntarily and within their capacity without being persuaded to do so. I keep telling people that you don't need to be a millionaire to be helping people, but the little you can assist is enough, even a word of encouragement goes a long way to give some people a push. Giving a listening ear, or rendering a simple act of service can change someone's day or even their life. Truly, goodness is measured by the impact we have on others, not by the amount we have in our bank account.
So true goodness is found in our little dealings with people on daily basis.
