Mi post de hoy será algo realmente diferente, pues me toca confesar y reconocer mis sentimientos por mi tierna nieta Nóbah y de la alegría que trajo a mi hogar. Ella llegó a nuestra casa muy pequeñita, pero envuelta de una picardía y destreza que nos atrapó a todos. La primera cautivada fue mi amada Jeraldine, mi hija de 16 años, quien en varias oportunidades me insistió que quería tener una mascota, pero yo me negaba por razones muy justificadas. Ya que oportunidades anteriores no había demostrado tener la responsabilidad y seriedad que se requiere para cuidar de ellas, por lo que terminaba su papá o yo por asumirla.

Today's post will be something really different, because it's my turn to confess and acknowledge my feelings for my tender granddaughter Nóbah and the joy she brought to my home. She arrived at our home very tiny, but wrapped in a mischievousness and dexterity that caught us all. The first to be captivated was my beloved Jeraldine, my 16 year old daughter, who on several occasions insisted that she wanted to have a pet, but I refused for very justified reasons. She had not demonstrated the responsibility and seriousness required to take care of them, so her father or I ended up taking her on.

Sin embargo, meditando bien en algunos puntos importantes, le dí esa oportunidad que tanto rogó, confieso que hasta ahora a sido una buena decisión, pues mi hija en ocasiones y por el tema de la cuarentena se mostraba muy callada, aburrida y triste, ahora se le escucha hablar y consentir a su princesita como le dice y eso la hace lucir muy feliz. Pienso que aún tiene muchas cosas que aprender en cuanto al aseo y los horarios de comida de su pequeña. Me ha tocado regañarla por algunas cosas que no están bien, ella las entiende y cuando le doy sugerencias las toma en consideración, por lo que me hace pensar que vamos por buen camino.

Mi esposo que siempre se ha sentido atraído por los animales, todas las mañana la apapacha, Nóbah apenas escucha sus pasos en la cocina sale corriendo a su encuentro, allí se queda con él como toda una guardiana, él juega mucho con ella y por supuesto también le ha tocado sacarla al patio para que haga sus necesidades, lo escuchamos regañarla porque es muy inquieta y le gusta comer tierra, eso le molesta mucho. Pero Nóbah quien es un pozo de ternura, termina metiendo al abuelo en su pequeño bolsillo, es por eso que a dónde él va ella lo persigue, en estos días nos reímos mucho, todos estábamos en la sala, Jeraldine haciendo sus trabajos del liceo, yo en el mueble acostada viendo televisión con él, a ella se le ocurrió la brillante idea de montarse sobre sus zapatos y dormir su siesta, no perdí la oportunidad de congelar ese gracioso momento. Mi esposo estaba quieto, porque si se movía la despertaba. Darwin tiene un banqueta de madera que usa para trabajar, allí se trepa, mientras él está en sus oficios, ella se queda muy quieta observando o termina durmiendo allí.

But Nóbah who is a well of tenderness, ends up putting grandpa in her little pocket, that's why wherever he goes she chases him, these days we laughed a lot, we were all in the living room, Jeraldine doing her school work, me on the furniture lying down watching TV with him, she had the brilliant idea to get on his shoes and take her nap, I did not miss the opportunity to freeze that funny moment. My husband was still, because if he moved he would wake her up. Darwin has a wooden stool that he uses for work, he climbs up there, while he is at his trades, she stays very still watching or ends up sleeping there.

Nóbah es una perrita muy activa, pero también duerme mucho, sufre de frío, por eso fue genial que su mamá Jeraldine le hiciera este traje que le da un poco de calor, por aquí les muestro uno de sus lugares favoritos, la alfombra que tenemos en la sala con la mesa de centro, allí le encanta dormir, todos nos tenemos que quedar en total silencio, si alguien se levanta y ella escucha los pasos, sale de prisa, dando tumbo porque tiene sueño, pero es muy terca, nos acompaña hasta donde sea que tengamos que ir. Si nos regresamos a la sala, ella nuevamente se acomoda en su alfombra y en cuestión de segundos se queda dormida, eso nos parece muy tierno de su parte.

Nóbah is a very active dog, but she also sleeps a lot, she suffers from cold, that's why it was great that her mom Jeraldine made her this suit that gives her some warmth, here I show you one of her favorite places, the carpet that we have in the living room with the coffee table, there she loves to sleep, we all have to stay in total silence, if someone gets up and she hears the steps, she leaves in a hurry, lying down because she is sleepy, but she is very stubborn, she accompanies us wherever we have to go. If we go back to the living room, she settles down again on her carpet and in a matter of seconds she falls asleep, we think that is very sweet of her.

Jeraldine viendo lo pequeña que era al llegar a casa la ubicó a dormir en esta cesta, allí le colocó un cojín que ella utilizaba para dormir, algunas de sus franelas que no utilizaba para darle calor, le puso unos muñequitos para que jugará, al principio el león era muy grande para ella, pero lo toma en ocasiones de almohada y sobre él duerme. Como está muy pegada con su mami ella le pones sus pies y ella simplemente se da la tarea de dormir todo lo que desea o de quedarse muy tranquilita, esto es posible si estamos quietos y sin hablar, porque sino la despertamos y ella empieza con todas sus travesuras.

Jeraldine, seeing how small she was when she got home, put her to sleep in this basket, there she placed a cushion that she used to sleep on, some of her flannels that she did not use to keep her warm, she put some dolls for her to play with, at the beginning the lion was too big for her, but sometimes she takes it as a pillow and she sleeps on it. As she is very close to her mommy she puts her feet on it and she simply sleeps as much as she wants or stays very quiet, this is possible if we are quiet and without talking, otherwise we wake her up and she starts with all her mischief.

Nóbah se despierta muy temprano por lo que hay que darle de comer, su vitamina, sacarla al patio y otras cosas que ameritan. Por lo general mi hija es la encargada de esto, es parte de lo que tiene que asumir y entender, ya que tener una mascota requiere de nuestro tiempo y energías, siempre digo que es como tener un niño recién nacido, ellos depende de nosotros para todo, si estamos dispuesto a sacrificar nuestras horas de dormir y del tiempo para atenderlos, entonces podemos decir en ambos casos que estamos preparados para tenerlos. Al principio fue fuerte para mi hija pero ya está acostumbrada. Eso hace que su relación sea aún más estrecha y la ame como lo hace. Nosotros la apoyamos en todo lo que podemos, pero la responsable principal es ella.

Nóbah wakes up very early so we have to feed her, give her her vitamin, take her out to the yard and other things that need to be done. Usually my daughter is in charge of this, it is part of what she has to assume and understand, since having a pet requires our time and energies, I always say that it is like having a newborn child, they depend on us for everything, if we are willing to sacrifice our sleeping hours and time to take care of them, then we can say in both cases that we are prepared to have them. At first it was hard for my daughter but she is used to it now. That makes her relationship even closer and she loves her the way she does. We support her as much as we can, but the main responsible is her.

Por mi parte me confieso rendida a sus pies, me encanta lo que me transmite cuando me mira, su calor al acostarse en mis pies, sus energías para correr y acompañarme a todo sitio, su turno en la cocina conmigo es al medio día, creo que es uno de sus lugares favoritos, imagino que es por el olor a la comida y por todo lo que le digo mientras estoy en su compañía. Es una lindura y una de las cosas que más me hace amarla, es lo feliz que nos hace a todos, en especial a mi hija. Cuando mi hijo mayor llega a casa se vuelve como loca, si está en las piernas de alguien se tira, para ir a se encuentro, en dos ocasiones se ha lastimado sus paticas, pero aún así no hay quien la detenga. Ella es nuestro rayito de luz, la chiquita de la casa, nuestra amada mascota, la que nos hace reír, correr, gritar, ella nos controla y nos hace día a día amarla con todo nuestro corazón.

For my part I confess myself surrendered at her feet, I love what she transmits to me when she looks at me, her warmth when she lies on my feet, her energy to run and accompany me everywhere, her shift in the kitchen with me is at noon, I think it is one of her favorite places, I imagine it is because of the smell of food and everything I say to her while I am in her company. She is a cutie and one of the things that makes me love her the most, is how happy she makes us all, especially my daughter. When my oldest son comes home she goes crazy, if she is on someone's lap she throws herself down to meet him, twice she has hurt her paws, but still there is no one to stop her. She is our ray of light, the little girl of the house, our beloved pet, the one that makes us laugh, run, scream, she controls us and makes us love her day by day with all our heart.
