The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.

- Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

I had a goal, devised a cunning plan and looked forward to fulfilling it...and from the moment it arrived I executed that plan with vigour and without mercy. The result? Well, I can happily say, I fucken killed it!

Last week was a challenge from a work and life perspective; I'm not complaining, I have a pretty nice life overall, it was just complex and felt a little out of control as I was bounding around from one thing to the next without pause, from work to personal to work and back again with a little sleep here and there...it was one of those weeks in which my plan didn't come to fruition at all, but I managed to get some things done and at the end came the weekend.

So let's talking about killing it

At the end of last weekend, looking at the prospect of another week of work and life ahead and all the complexities they hold, I contemplated the weekend just passed, things I'd done, how I felt throughout and what value I felt I'd gained. I'm happy to say I felt pretty good about it, to the point of feeling that I fucken killed it, as previously stated. Of course, I mean the weekend, not that legit horny beast in the image above - photographed by myself of course.

I'm not inclined to talk much about exactly what I did over the weekend as some of the things I did don't belong on the interwebs but it was a beautifully balanced masterpiece of doing some cool and rather unusual things, relaxation, amazing sleep (me love sleep like cookie monster loves cookies), and quality time spent with my two girls, Cleo and the other, two-legged, one. Sunday night I recall sitting with the two-legged girl I mention sipping coffee and talking about the weekend and commenting on how great it had been and how well-needed a great weekend actually was; I felt it vindicated the previous week's fuckassery and set me up for the next which I'm in right now.

It's amazing the power a couple of great days can have over our thoughts and attitudes and the future too; it seems to open one's paradigm, brings room to accommodate something more, or fortify a person for the complications life can hold; it's empowering and rejuvenating, or so I find.

I wonder if you find weekends, and especially great weekends, you've experienced do the same for you. Have you taken a weekend and killed it!

Have you felt empowered, rejuvenated, excited or more ready to face whatever the immediate future might throw your way due to having had a great weekend? Feel free to comment below, I'd like to hear from you and maybe you'd even like to do a post of your own expanding on your comment in the weekend experiences community.
