Last days of the year come accompanied by "winter" climate. We actually have two main period, rainy and dry. Rains stops by the end of October or beginning of November. Then, we can start feeling a cold breeze especially during the afternoon. The trees start dancing, people wear coats, and the clouds have their own behavior. High clouds start appearing, and they take shapes due to the wind currents. It is then time to some cloud hunting. I love to photograph cloud shapes and colors. during this windy season, I always keep an eye on the sky. I share with you some of my catches of the past few days.
Los últimos días del año vienen acompañados de un clima "invernal". De hecho, tenemos dos períodos principales, lluvioso y seco. Las lluvias cesan a finales de octubre o principios de noviembre. Entonces, podemos empezar a sentir una brisa fría especialmente durante la tarde. Los árboles comienzan a bailar, la gente usa abrigos y las nubes tienen su propio comportamiento. Empiezan a aparecer nubes altas que van tomando forma debido a las corrientes de viento. Entonces es el momento de buscar nubes. Me encanta fotografiar formas y colores de nubes. Durante esta temporada de viento, siempre vigilo el cielo. Comparto con ustedes algunas de mis capturas de los últimos días.
I include this photo to show the difference with the first one. Those are the same clouds, but the angle makes everything different. On the first picture, I aligned the feather clouds to the corners of the image, and notice how even a little whirl below the main Whittier clouds combines well. In the case of clouds, I believe this is really important; how to frame and make the composition based on shapes.
Incluyo esta foto para mostrar la diferencia con la primera. Esas son las mismas nubes, pero el ángulo hace que todo sea diferente. En la primera imagen, alineé las nubes de plumas con las esquinas de la imagen y noté cómo incluso un pequeño remolino debajo de las nubes principales mas blancas se combina bien. I like the direction in this one too. It looks like the feather clouds are piercing or tackling a bank of cirrus. the thickness on feathers up make them look like that part is closer to us.
También me gusta la dirección en este. Parece que las nubes de plumas están perforando o atacando un banco de cirros. el grosor de las plumas hacia arriba hace que parezcan que esa parte está más cerca de nosotros.
A bank of cirrus is also a beautiful scenario to photograph. Those little chunks of cotton lie so close together you cannot help but to think how soft the sky must be hehe.
One of the challenges for this type of photos is the amount of light at midday or early afternoon. Photos end up having this "burning effect" for the amount of light present. this is evident in my last photo especially. While ISO is 100 for most of the photos I am sharing, the last one has an ISO 200. The rest of EXIF data is similar as well, f1.8, 1/3000-4000, no flash, 4.74mm.
Un banco de cirros también es un hermoso escenario para fotografiar. Esos pequeños trozos de algodón están tan juntos que no puedes evitar pensar en lo suave que debe ser el cielo, jeje.
Uno de los retos para este tipo de fotografías es la cantidad de luz al mediodía o al principio de la tarde. Las fotos terminan teniendo este "efecto ardiente" por la cantidad de luz presente. esto es evidente especialmente en mi última foto. Mientras que ISO es 100 para la mayoría de las fotos que estoy compartiendo, la última tiene un ISO 200. El resto de los datos EXIF también son similares, f1.8, 1/3000-4000, sin flash, 4.74 mm.
