Never too cold for some BBQ

I don't know about you but lately Romania has been part of some really cold days and nights, registering even -31°C at Întorsura Buzăului which represents the city with the coldest temperatures from Romania. However, the same temperature we had at the mountains that are not very far from the place where I'm currently living, which was really surprising since at the same time it was just -20°C at the North Pole.

A few days ago we had -23°C in the morning so now walking to the gym or in town at -10 or -15°C feels sort of warm, lol!

Anyway, since my parents made us a visit, we took this as a great opportunity to drive just 7 mins away from our homeplace for some BBQ in the middle of a very white and lonely place which is usually quite crowded during the hot seasons.

We encountered some problems driving close to the little pavilions arranged to enjoy your meal due to the big snow and all the ice created on the floor but just when we were looking for a place where to leave the car, a local police vehicle that was just coming up created us a path to follow after they laid down the snow with their 4WD car.

Since there was no one else in the park, we decided to stop at the first wooden chalet for our BBQ activity so we are close to the car but also get the view over the valley from where we usually can see the complex with the apartments where we call home for 3 years now. Unfortunately, being quite cold and foggy outside, these weren't fully visible this time but I'll make sure to take some new pictures for you during the summer to see the difference.

Until a few months now, we used to drive more than 20 mins to a similar place to this one but closer to the mountains. From what I understood, this location is a fairly new project so I'm really happy that it's so close to us and it also has the tiny park arranged for kids, as well as MTB tracks and all kind of routes in the woods that I can't wait to try out in spring.

Anyway, as soon as we finished arranging all the ingredients on the table that were going to be used for other food preparations, we waited no more and started the fire. My father is usually the one who takes care of the fire for me while I handle the cooking part. I simply love grilling and not for a few times I felt my belly already full because the smell you get to inhale while cooking gives you the fake impression that you already ate, but to be honest, no matter what you eat, it always tastes different and a lot more delicious while being served in nature.
